Jennifer’s memoir, First Responder, follows her journey to becoming an EMT and working during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. The book was a Time Magazine selection for best books of April 2021. Her nonfiction has appeared in The New York Times, Time, Salon, Forbes, and Institutional Investor, among other media outlets. Her creative work has also appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies including Mississippi Review, Joyful Noise, Words in Your Face, Uncommon Bonds, and Tell Me Who You Are. As a performer, Jennifer has featured at Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater and TED. She maintains a parallel career as a crisis manager and private investigator. Jennifer graduated with a B.A. from Syracuse University, an M.A. from the University of Chicago, and an M.F.A. in fiction writing from New York University. She lives in upstate New York.
